Full service jewelry and accessory company takes a shine to Centric PLM for user-friendly, efficient product development
CAMPBELL, Calif., December 13, 2022 – ENO, a premium jewelry manufacturing solution dedicated to mastering the art of jewelry craftsmanship, has selected Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. Centric Software® provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source and sell products such as apparel, footwear, sporting goods, furniture, home décor, cosmetics, food & beverage and luxury to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Founded in 2005 and based in California, ENO is a multi-generational family business rooted in the jewelry and accessories industry. The company offers the complete product development process from concept to design to quality assurance, packaging, social compliance guidance and logistics. Calling themselves a one-stop-shop, ENO “believes consistency in execution is vital to the longevity of a product and a brand.”
Tracey Valdez, Director of Enterprise Operations at ENO says, “We grew from a four-person team to 25 people. We have a showroom in New York City and a design team in Taipei, Taiwan with manufacturing in southern China. 90% of our business is manufacturing lines for well-known designers and brands. In addition, our own in-house design team produces an open line showcased in New York, that retailers and even cruise ships purchase for their stores.”
Valdez discusses the need for a PLM solution. “When I started with the company in 2007, we managed the business with Excel. As we grew, complexity increased with so much more to track. Our spreadsheets turned into really massive files that we were unable to share within the company without having to provide detailed explanations to the person who needed them.”
ENO began the search for a digital solution. Says Valdez, “We didn’t have common ground to share information. There was a lot of miscommunication.” Thinking that ERP was what they required, Valdez did her research. She quickly realized that ERP had to be in concert with PLM. “Once I discovered what PLM did, a light bulb went off—this is what we need!”
The PLM field was narrowed to three candidates. It came down to Centric’s interface that put the ENO users at ease. “Our employees have been with the company for a long time and we are just so comfortable with Excel. Centric, had a lot of things that felt like a spreadsheet and it was very user friendly but still modern. Also, we clicked so well with the Centric team.”
Besides having all product development data in one place, ENO expects to make good use of all of the approvals and the historical data. “If we needed to find something, that we developed five years ago, it was nearly impossible to locate it quickly. It would take hours.
Also, just pulling data together to come up with reports and analysis would be a week-long task.”
ENO anticipates improved communication with their manufacturing facility in China and to add multiple vendors to the procurement fold. Valdez remarks, “You can’t possibly do that with spreadsheets. We need a database to capture all of the sampling and costing and track it all. PLM is really going to pull it all together.”
President and CEO of Centric Software, Chris Groves, says, “We are happy that ENO, a respected and full-service jewelry entity, is laying their digital foundation with Centric PLM® . A company like ENO that works with high profile brands, needs the technological advantage they will attain with our solution to keep pace and foster further growth.”
