Innovative South Korean Beauty Brand Achieves Improved Visibility and Collaboration in Product Development with Centric PLM
CAMPBELL, Calif., February 5, 2024 – Centric Software® is proud to announce successful Korean beauty brand, Tamburins, has implemented Centric PLM™. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source, buy, make, price, allocate, sell and replenish products such as fashion, outdoor, luxury, multi-category retail, grocery, food & beverage, cosmetics & personal care and consumer electronics to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Launched in 2017, Tamburins has garnered international attention for its cosmetics that transcend traditional boundaries. The brand, owned by South Korean company, iicombined, is known for its unique approach to products and retail experience. Following Gentle Monster’s lead, another iicombined brand, Tamburins is the second brand to implement Centric PLM. Over the last two years, Tamburins has impressively doubled in revenue. With this growth, the brand has launched in China and Japan, and now aims to expand its global presence.
Kyung-han, Project Manager for Supply Planning at Tamburins, explains the brand’s growth strategy, “With the expansion, it is important that we still preserve our brand identity. From the packaging, product design and scents, to the store experience, our products offer a unique experience for all.”
“Tamburins’s rapid growth has been phenomenal. However, we’ve been using various tools and platforms to manage product design, development and supply management. We needed a single, reliable system to manage the entire product lifecycle across all departments and support our plans to expand internationally.”
After assessing potential PLM partners, Tamburins selected Centric Software for its expertise in fashion, cosmetics and consumer goods, reinforced by Gentle Monster’s adoption of Centric PLM in 2021.
“Currently, Centric PLM is used by the production and purchasing teams, and we are already seeing the benefits of having a standardized system in place for new product development. Accuracy has improved, and we foresee revenue benefits from enhanced cost and margin visibility,” says Kyung-han. “We have already started onboarding our manufacturers and suppliers into Centric PLM, which will further improve the way we collaborate.”
