China’s home textile leader partners with Centric Software to build a digital R&D platform, driving efficiency, quality and innovation
CAMPBELL, Calif., August 20, 2024 – Centric Software® is pleased to announce that Mercury, the Chinese bedding company, has selected Centric PLM™ to drive go-to-market innovation and efficient collaboration. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source, buy, make, price, allocate, sell and replenish products such as fashion, outdoor, luxury, multi-category retail, grocery, food & beverage, cosmetics & personal care and consumer electronics to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Shanghai Mercury Home Textile Stock Co., Ltd. is a major member enterprise of Mercury Holding Group and an important founder of China’s modern home textile industry. Founded in 1987, Mercury has developed into a modern enterprise that integrates R&D, design, production and sales, specializing in multiple brands. Mercury produces an extensive range of over 300 bedding and sleep products across eight categories.
In the face of rapid business development, digital transformation is high on Mercury’s agenda to drive long-term growth. Mercury decided to implement Centric PLM, aiming to establish a benchmark case in their industry that embraces advanced productivity standards.
Mr. Li Laibin, Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President of Mercury Home Textile, says, “The future goal of Mercury Group is to become a billion-level enterprise. The key to achieving this goal lies in improving the overall operational efficiency of the company, including transparency in the supply chain and efficient inter-departmental collaboration. PLM is an important tool to enhance operational efficiency, and the value of the PLM project is highly consistent with our development philosophy.”
The project primarily focuses on establishing a digital R&D collaboration platform to enhance business efficiency, improve overall collaboration and product iteration capability, and enable rapid responsiveness to market demands with high-quality products.
“We hope to leverage Centric PLM to provide controlled creative space during the R&D process, ensuring that each idea and concept has a clear framework and guidance when implemented,” explains Mr. Li. “This will further promote information sharing and collaboration between departments.”
Mr. Wang Yanhui, Director of Mercury Home Textile and General Manager of Mercury E-commerce, says, “The value of the PLM project is self-evident. It is a long-term initiative that, although requiring significant effort to streamline business and data processes, will ultimately reduce our workload once implemented.”
“We are honored that Mercury has chosen Centric PLM to establish a digital R&D collaboration platform,” says Chris Groves, CEO of Centric Software. “We look forward to the successful launch of the project, working in close collaboration with the Mercury team. We are confident that the implementation of Centric PLM will contribute to Mercury achieving their strategic growth objectives.”
